John McGuinness to ride for Norton at TT 2018

03:10
23-time Isle of Man TT Race winner John McGuinness has signed to ride for the Norton factory team in the RST Superbike and PokerStars Senior TT Races at the 2018 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy. McGuinness joins 2015 British Superbike Champion Josh Brookes in a two-man team using the latest specification Norton ‘SG7’ machines, derived from the firm’s flagship V4 RR road bike. McGuinness last won a Superbike class race in 2015, winning the PokerStars Senior TT, which also saw him breaking the outright lap record with a lap of 132.701, which remains his fastest lap around the Mountain Course. He achieved podiums in both the 2016 RST Superbike and PokerStars Senior TT but missed last year’s TT race meeting due to serious injuries sustained in the North West 200, which he is still recovering from. However, he expects to be back to full fitness in time for his TT debut with Norton this June. McGuinness has enjoyed a remarkable TT career and is second only to Joey Dunlop in outright TT victories and is rightly considered as one of the all-time TT greats. In a career that has now stretched over twenty years, he first announced himself to the road-racing world in 1996, finishing the highest placed and fastest newcomer in the 250cc TT Race and his name has since become synonymous with the Isle of Man Mountain Course. He has stood on the Isle of Man TT podium a record 46 times from 78 race finishes and is confident that more success is just around the corner now he has teamed up with this iconic British brand. "Mike The Bike" Hailwood - TT Legend - One Day In June - 1978 F1 Race

02:14
http://shop.iomtt.com/prd1118/One-Day-in-June-DVD The glorious return of one of motorcycle racing’s biggest names to the Isle of Man TT is the stuff of legend, still one of the most talked about events at the fabled road race more than three decades on. In 1978, multiple World Champion Mike Hailwood returned to the iconic 37.73-mile TT course, after a self-imposed 11 year absence from the world famous circuit. Few doubted Hailwood still possessed the legendary skill which had brought him 12 TT wins, but a comeback at 38, after more than a decade away, was still a daunting prospect. With a fine handling, but under-powered Ducati V-Twin at his disposal, Mike the Bike went head-to-head with fellow great Phil Read, riding the much faster 4 cylinder Honda in the opening race of the TT festival. Amazingly, Hailwood roared to victory in the Formula One race. Fortunately a crew from Outrider Films was on hand to capture this historic moment, and interviews with Hailwood himself as he explains how boredom with his ‘9-5 lifestyle’ had brought him back to racing. One Day in June is a unique opportunity to see one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time in action in one of his most important races. This classic film also includes footage from the Senior TT, where Hailwood raced a Yamaha against legends like Pat Hennen and Tom Herron. Plus, this DVD includes a bonus audio feature offering you the chance to hear Mike the Bike discuss a decade of racing at the TT in the extraordinary Mike Hailwood: My First 10 TT Years. Recorded at Hailwood’s London flat in 1968, this chat with Peter Arnold chronicles the highs and lows of ten years racing in the Isle of Man, from fresh-faced teenager to his apparent retirement in 1967. Digitally remastered from the original Stanley Schofield archive recording, Mike Hailwood: My First 10 TT Years recalls the exhilarating battles, frustrations and tremendous triumphs. It is a thrilling opportunity to discover how Hailwood managed to stamp his authority on the event, and offers revealing insight and first-hand accounts of some of the most memorable races ever. The soundtrack to the interview is provided by the Hondas, MV Agustas and other glorious machines that dominated the TT during Hailwood's heyday, plus race commentary from such luminaries as Murray Walker. There's also a chance to hear more classic recordings of TT action from the 1950s and 1960s in clips from Duke's audio TT collection.
Isle of Man TT 2018 | John McGuinness & Michael Dunlop's MD Racing!

03:36
Two of the Isle of Man TT’s greatest ever riders will join forces at 2018 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy with John McGuinness set to ride for Michael Dunlop’s MD Racing team in the two Monster Energy Supersport races. McGuinness, who will be making his return to the TT this year after missing the 2017 meeting due to injuries sustained at the North West 200, will ride a similar CBR600RR Honda to team owner and rival Dunlop in the four-lap races, which will be held on Monday 4th and Wednesday 6th June. Dunlop and McGuinness both have an excellent track record in the class with the Northern Irishman winning last year’s four lap race when Yamaha-mounted while 23-time winner McGuinness was victorious in both 2005 and 2006 for Yamaha and Honda respectively. Riding for the latter exclusively since 2006, the Morecambe Missile added further Supersport podiums to his haul in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2013. Since 2010, John McGuinness has lined up in the colours of Padgetts Racing and more recently the Jackson Racing team, finishing in the top five on no less than eight occasions with his most recent outing in 2016 seeing him finish fifth. Michael Dunlop still holds the lap record for the class having lapped at 128.667mph on his way to a double victory in 2013 when riding the CBR600RR. MD Racing will be making their return to Honda for the two Monster Energy Supersport Races for the first time since 2015. Isle of Man TT Review 2011

02:56
TT 2011, available on BluRay: http://bit.ly/ZD1ra9 (European) or http://bit.ly/TkYeXP (US) DVD: http://bit.ly/WJ6Yq8 (European) or http://bit.ly/V6BicX (US) Download: http://bit.ly/V6AVz2 The Official Review of the 2011 Isle of Man is packed with jaw-dropping action from around the legendary 37.73-mile road course, plus all the usual interviews, behind-the-scenes access and bonus features. The 2011 TT was one of the most competitive ever, with top riders and leading teams lining up to take on the challenge. The great John McGuinness returned and was looking to get back on the top step of the podium after last year's disappointment, adding yet more victories to his 15-win tally. Former TAS Suzuki teammates Bruce Anstey and Cameron Donald, both TT winners, had new challenges for 2011 -- Anstey with Padgetts and Donald having moved to Wilson Craig. Back in the TAS squad, Guy Martin was the new recruit -- he was looking to put the 170mph crash of last year behind him and finally land that elusive first TT win. Plus, Keith Amor, Michael and William Dunlop, Ryan Farquhar and Michael Rutter were among the stars hoping to battle for victories in 2011. There was also a wealth of talented newcomers who lined up for the 2011 TT, including short circuit ace Simon Andrews. The three-wheel racing was also scintillating, with Austrian Klaus Klaffenbock back with Dan Sayle and determined to defend the double sidecar TT wins he scored last year. The Official Review also includes interviews with the stars, plenty of bonus material and a look at some of the off-track excitement. There was also plenty of coverage of the star-studded events organised to mark the 100th anniversary of racing on the Mountain course and Yamaha's 50th anniversary.

Norton prepare for the Isle of Man TT Races 1948

03:53
http://www.dukevideo.com/prd1105/TT-1948-DVD A short but wonderfully nostalgic visual record of the 1948 Isle of Man TT featuring pre-race activities and action footage. 1948 saw a record number of entries as Norton, Velocette and Moto Guzzis dominated. Stars of the post War era - Freddie Frith, Bob Foster, Artie Bell and other familiar faces were drawn once more to this legendary road racing festival. Probably the first TT film produced after the Second World War, this recently discovered film won an award for its enthusiastic producer Sam Coles. There is no sound other than the informed commentary of Graham Walker but this in no way detracts from the atmosphere and excitement of another chapter in Isle of Man road racing history. Easy to see why it won an award for its producer...excellent viewing and well worth the asking price' Met On Wheels

The skill, bravery and concentration levels required are immense, with speeds approaching 200mph, and, while difficult to learn and even harder to come first, the rewards for winning on the world famous course are like no other. Positive psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, describes the mental state of flow as "being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you're using your skills to the utmost." This is what racing the TT is all about; 'FLOW!' So, if you're a newcomer to the TT, one of the best things you can do before jumping in the hot seat and giving it a full twist of the wrist down Bray Hill, is to do your homework and programme the course layout into your mind. In Part 1 of our 'Learn the Course' series, we take a ride with Padgett's Honda mounted Bruce Anstey during the 2011 Supersport Race from the startline to Handley's corner. Each corner name is highlighted for reference, so as a newcomer you can create a mental map of the course. Part 2 is coming soon! Subscribe to our channel: http://bit.ly/2kKTBIM www.iomtt.com Grab yourself a brew, sit back and watch this enchanting video of a Rover motorcycle being constructed back in the good old days of hand crafted machinery. From casting the cylinders to machining the crank and assembling the engine, this a wonderful insight into the vintage days of building motorcycles for the road. And keep your eye out for the test rider who hits the water feature with a little bit too much gusto! The Rover company began to develop and produced the Rover Imperial motorcycle in November 1902. This was a 3.5hp diamond-framed motorcycle with the engine in the centre and 'springer' front forks, an improvement ahead of its time. The first Rover motorcycle had innovative features such as a spray carburettor, a bottom-bracket engine, and mechanically operated valves. Featuring a strong frame with double front down tubes and a good quality finish, over a thousand Rover motorcycles were sold in 1904.
