Cops Give New Jordans to a Kid Being Bullied Over His Shoes

01:36
People are continually harassed, usually playfully, over having a lame pair of sneakers, but sometimes that bullying can turn into something serious. According to the Star-Telegram, Adam Flowers, 9, of Macon, Ga., was bullied by teenagers for days about his torn-up shoes, his grandmother, Carolyn Taylor, said. Flowers had been wearing a pair of tennis shoes that had its sole separating, a pair that he had owned for 2 years. Flowers was taunted with chants of "What are those?" and was being picked on because of his old sneakers. The bullying hits its climax when a 16-year-old girl put Flowers in a headlock in front of the apartment he lives in with his grandmother. Taylor saw the altercation and called the police. Responding officer Trinicholas Carswell made a visit to the teen's home to talk to her parents about her actions. Carswell later came back to Flower's apartment where he asked Flowers his shoe size. "I want to buy him some shoes. ... He needs some shoes, doesn't he?" Carswell said. A couple of hours later, Carswell, along with two other deputies, returned with a new pair of Jordan Flight 23s for Flowers. Flowers was floored with excitement."He saw the shoes and it was just pandemonium after that," Taylor said. He even wore the shoes to bed, Taylor said. With all the negative light that has been put on cops and sneaker culture, it is refreshing to see a positive story to come from something like this. Here's What Happened at Supreme's First Drop of the Spring/Summer 2016 Season

04:07
Early this morning, there were rumors that the resellers who were featured in our Sold Out: The Underground Economy of Supreme Resellers documentary were banned from the store. We reached out to those same resellers and they confirmed this isn't true. According to Andre, who goes by the name of @solestreetsneakerco, he wasn't banned from the Lafayette Street store. "Not at all, I just cleaned house," he told Complex via e-mail. "They did however limit me to Xls only and have the reason that it came from higher up because I took it too far on the doc. It sucks but I'm hoping the good that came from it out weighs the bad in the long run." He adds that he wishes Supreme would reach out to him directly and talk to him him about what their issue was. Another reseller, who asked to remain anonymous, says the resellers who took part in the documentary are only allowed to buy their size. "Corporate cracked down and it's a big thing now." According to him, Charlie, the security guard who mans the door at the Supreme New York store, was fired because of the documentary. We've reached out to Supreme for comment. Here's How a College Student Snuck Into NBA Finals Game 7

02:02
The young man you see in the photo above is Micah Poag. Poag, a sophomore at the University of Texas, is a Warriors fan, and he wanted to go to Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday (what basketball fan wouldn't?). Tickets were reselling for an average of about $3,000, though—with one fan purchasing two courtside seats for $49,500 apiece—so Poag had to get really creative to work his way into Oracle Arena. The Supreme Line in NYC Was Crazy For North Face Drop

This week, Supreme dropped the second half of its collaboration with North Face, bringing out tons of hypebeasts as you'd expect. Included in the drop was a Steep Tech crewneck, short sleeve t-shirts and a 6-panel hat, all in an array of brightly colored hues like turquoise, yellow, red as well as black and white. Though this drop wasn't the most hyped of them all, there was still a good amount of the usual suspects out there, scheming and trying to get their hands on whatever was left. Is This Fake Future the Best Troll of 2016 So Far?

01:27
We're not even a full two months into 2016, but we might already have the troll of the year, and it goes to California rapper KYLE. While KYLE already has a pretty crazy fanbase on his own merit, he decided to pull off an epic joke on a crowd of over 2,000 during a recent show in Austin, Texas. The story goes that right in the middle of the show, KYLE brought out a guy that looked exactly like Future and had his DJ throw on "Fuck Up Some Commas" to make the crowd think that a very special guest had just hit the stage. Well, as KYLE explained later on Twitter, it was not actually Future, but an imposter that he and his accomplice Brick arranged to come out onto the stage. Not only that, but they even had a fake Metro Boomin out there in the headband and all to completely fool the crowd. It wasn't until the fake Future went backstage and revealed that he wasn't actually Future did everyone realize what just went down. As KYLE wrote on Twitter after, he indeed gets the troll of the year award already. A$AP Rocky Driving Might Be the Funniest Thing You See Today

02:21
http://wbby.co/y3FEf A$AP Rocky seems like the type who would rather have someone drive him around. It’s perfectly reasonable considering that he’s from New York City where public transportation methods (bus, MTA, Citi bike) are used by nearly every person living here. So when he does have to get behind the wheel, you better believe he’s extra cautious. Like, really cautious. Hands on the wheel at 10 and 2. Driving at a reasonable speed. Listening to Beach House’s “Gila.” Some guy who took the video saying “Shaky warrior” at him, an infamous intro to Drake’s “Know Yourself.” It’s not like Rocky has admitted he frequently drives before. While on Tyler, the Creator’s Golf Radio show last month, Rocky said he got his permit suspended as a teenager but stressed that he knows how to drive. Tyler wasn’t buying it, though. Well, at least Twitter was behind Rocky. Here's Why Steph Curry Didn't Sign With Nike

02:00
Ever since Steph Curry broke out as one of the top players in the NBA—and one of the top earners in sneaker sales—much has been written and speculated about Under Armour's 2013 acquisition of the 2015 NBA MVP. While we may never know the sole reason for Curry's departure—if it can even be narrowed down to one—a new article from ESPN sheds some light on the bundle of straws that eventually broke the camel's back. As ESPN staff writer Ethan Strauss reports, the breakdown between Curry and Nike can be traced back to the 2013 NBA off-season. That summer, Curry had voiced interest in heading a Nike-sponsored camp for up-and-coming ballers. This was especially important to Curry because he had fond memories of participating in a Chris Paul-led camp as a kid and wanted to carry on the torch. However, when it came time for Nike to make its decision, the brand chose Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis to run its camps instead of Curry. As discouraging as it was, that was only the beginning. In August of 2013, Nike had an opportunity to sway Curry with a formal pitch meeting. As Steph's father Dell Curry recalls, things started to go south quickly, as Dell says a Nike rep opened the meeting by mispronouncing Stephen's name as "Steph-on." The red flags began popping up immediately, and it only went downhill from there. Later, Nike loaded up a PowerPoint presentation that actually still had Kevin Durant's name on it—a misstep that Curry's father says was the final straw. "I stopped paying attention after that," Dell said. It was clear that Nike didn't consider Curry an elite athlete, or, as Sonny Vaccaro puts it, a "stud with tight haircuts and muscles." According to Vaccaro, it was Curry's every-man persona and relatability that steered the Swoosh away. "Everything that makes him human and cuddly and an unlikely monster is anathema to Nike," Vaccaro said. Ultimately, ESPN found that Curry's decision may have been heavily influenced by his former Warriors teammate Kent Bazemore, who Under Armour used as a catalyst of sorts to grab Steph's attention. "He was a rookie for us, and he got more gear and boxes in front of his locker every day than anybody else on the team," Curry said. A$AP Rocky on Travi$ Scott: "Let the People Decide If He a Biter or Authentic"

Last week, A$AP Mob member A$AP Nast sent shots at Travi$ Scott for biting their crew's style. In a new interview with Hot 97, A$AP Rocky talked about the situation and shared his thoughts on Travi$. On if he thinks Travi$ is biting their style, Rocky said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. Rocky also didn't totally agree with what Nast said about Travi$ and his style. "You can't come at a rapper with video clips, you gotta come with music," Rocky said. "That man [Travi$], he's doing his thing, doing what he's supposed to do." Gucci Mane Reveals Why He Sold Young Thug's Contract

It looks like Future and Young Thug are definitely working on something. The two rappers took to Snapchat Thursday night to share videos of themselves hanging out in the studio. Future posted up a very quick clip of the two kicking back with music playing in the background and a bunch of wave emojis crossing the screen, which must've been a hint at how they were feeling as he bounced the phone back and forth on beat. Meanwhile, Thugger had been going at his Snapchat all day Thursday—we highly recommend you check for a quick stream of Thug trying out pretty much every face filter—but also posted up another brief video of the two hanging out and lighting up as music turned up in the background. The Average NBA Player Spends a Fortune Every Month

01:55
Even though a 2009 Sports Illustrated study revealed that about 60 percent of former NBA players go broke within five years of leaving the league, and even though there have been lots and lots and lots of examples of NBA players blowing through millions, it sounds like the average NBA player continues to spend way too much money. According to a new study done by Personal Capital, NBA players are spending, on average, $42,500 per month. That works out to more than $500,000 every year. And while the average NBA salary is around $5 million per year prior to taxes, some simple math shows why it’s so difficult for NBA players to hold on to their money once they retire. If you’re spending about $1 million every two years and you get used to the lifestyle that that kind of spending brings, you’re going to run into trouble after your career is over. So what are NBA players spending their money on? Personal Capital took a look at that, too, and found that the players who had their spending habits tracked spent a large percentage of their money at retailers like Whole Foods, Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Apple, Walmart, and Mercedes-Benz. But the top retailer—by far—was Express, which, as Time pointed out, may be because of their selection of tall and extended sizes of clothing. The NBA players surveyed spent $221,108 at the clothing store, which is more than three times the amount they spent with the second-highest retailer on the list, Whole Foods ($73,113), during the four-month evaluation. As first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, Personal Capital surveyed the spending habits of 50 NBA players between December 2015 and March 2016 by providing them with access to their free online spending tool. And, as the newspaper points out, the results "should be taken with a grain of salt" because of the relatively small sample size used for the study (50 players out of about 450 players in the NBA right now). But Personal Capital's chief marketing officer Mark Goines told the SF Chronicle they struck a deal with the NBA Players Association in 2015 due in large part to the financial struggles many ex-NBA players face. "They have unique income and expense circumstances," Goines said. "The goal is educating the players about where they are in their financial lives, cope with sudden wealth, and hopefully gain a longer term perspective." "Hopefully" is right. Decoding J. Cole's '4 Your Eyez Only' Album

03:09
For J. Cole, black excellence is black normalcy. Throughout his career, even as he has willed himself to reach higher artistic heights, he’s doggedly tried to remain tethered to the ground, relatability always being his main goal. You can see this tension in the self-deprecating titles of his first two albums, Cole World: The Sideline Story and Born Sinner. They paint Cole as the everyman who just so happened to be in the spotlight, spitting bars through his crooked smile. On his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, he resolved the conflict between these two ambitions by fully embracing both. In the final verse of “Fire Squad” he immolates a crown and declares there will be no more kings in rap, every man an everyman. As he puts it during the outro: “Ain't gonna be no more kings. Be wary of any man that claims, because deep down he clings onto the need for power. The reality, he's a coward.” Subscribe to our New Complex Channel: https://goo.gl/43ac5w Subscribe to Complex for More: http://goo.gl/PJeLOl Check out more of Complex here: http://www.complex.com https://twitter.com/ComplexMag https://www.facebook.com/complex https://www.instagram.com/complex/ https://plus.google.com/+complex/ COMPLEX is a community of creators and curators, armed with the Internet, committed to surfacing and sharing the voices and conversations that define our new America. Suge Knight Sent Goons to Kill Eminem

01:25
In a shocking interview on the Murder Master Music Show, Eminem's former bodyguard claims that Suge Knight once tried to have Eminem killed. Byron "Big Naz" Williams said the incident took place at the 2001 Source Awards, which he noted was known to be plagued with violence problems. Eminem was forced to sit away from his bodyguards with other artists and fans. “That was our first encounter with Suge Knight and his henchman," he said. "Em was going to his seat. The way they had the seating was all messed up and the bodyguards couldn’t sit with the artists. I think that was by design ’cause I think they really wanted the artists to be able to network with each other, but it also gives people who got beef with other artists to get at them," he said. What 'False Prophets' Reveals About J. Cole & Kanye's Relationship

04:22
J. Cole has complicated relationships with his idols. He was dismissed after traveling to Roc The Mic Studio and waiting three hours to give Jay Z a beat CD. Years later, he signed a deal with Jay. When his new boss demanded a single for radio, Cole released the poppy “Work Out”—only to get a call telling him that another idol, Nas, was disappointed with the song. Cole chronicled the experience on his 2013 album Born Sinner, which he pushed up the release date for in order to compete with another rapper he looked up to: Kanye West. He went head-to-head with West’s divisive Yeezus because, in his words, “I worked too hard to come a week later after Kanye West drops an amazing album…. Nah, I’m going to see him on that date.” While he ultimately didn't outperform Kanye's album, Cole came very, very close: Born Sinner debuted at 297,000 units sold, just 30,000 behind Yeezus. The feat proved that Cole had arrived, and was on the same playing field as the artist he looked up to. But the achievement perhaps didn’t mean as much to Cole as he expected it to. “I only get brief moments to appreciate things,” he told Noisey. “I might get a two minute thought of like, ‘Wow, you really did sell more than Kanye…." [At the time he had moved more units, according to Billboard.] "Then I’m back to focusing on what’s next.” Subscribe to our New Complex Channel: https://goo.gl/43ac5w Subscribe to Complex for More: http://goo.gl/PJeLOl Check out more of Complex here: http://www.complex.com https://twitter.com/ComplexMag https://www.facebook.com/complex https://www.instagram.com/complex/ https://plus.google.com/+complex/ COMPLEX is a community of creators and curators, armed with the Internet, committed to surfacing and sharing the voices and conversations that define our new America. 76ers Fan Explains Why He Flipped Off Russell Westbrook

If you missed the Thunder/76ers game on Wednesday night, then you missed two things: The emergence of Joel Embiid, who looks like he could be the real deal for Philadelphia, and the incredible reaction that Russell Westbrook had to a Sixers fan flipping him off with not one, but two middle fingers in the first half of the game. The second one in particular was a pretty incredible moment, and while the NBA obviously doesn’t want to promote fan behavior like that, Westbrook’s reaction really was that good. NFL Player's Family Blows Nearly $2 Million in Just 10 Months

02:54
Trent Richardson has made over $20 million dollars in his NFL career, but that sounds like it all would've been gone in an absurdly short amount of time if the spending habits of his family and friends hadn't been curbed. In fact, the past year of his life seems like a textbook example of what they warn you about at those NFL rookie seminars. Sitting down with Shelley Smith for ESPN's E:60, Richardson talked about the vultures his family and friends who blew $1.6 million of his money between January and October of 2015. The Hilarious Story Behind J.R. Smith's 1st Tattoo

01:56
J.R. Smith sat down in the back of a car while, Vice asked him questions for a "Ride Along" segment recently. One of the many topics that the Cavaliers guard touched on was his very first tattoo (you may have noticed that he has more than one at this point), and he revealed that there's a backstory that's classic J.R. Smith got inked for the first time at 16. His mom drove him to the tattoo parlor—she was apparently much different than Carmelo Anthony's mom—and waited while he got a tattoo that showed him dunking. Except that, er, it wasn't actually him dunking. "It's a picture of me dunking," he told Vice. "Well, it was a picture of Vince Carter dunking, and I just changed the number and put my name on the back." Welp. That was the best idea Smith could come up with? Fortunately, the tattoo is now hidden among a sea of other tattoos. Joe Budden Breaks Down the Full Story of Drake Fans Running Up on His House

03:43
Joe Budden set the internet aflame after he chased down some kids who ran up on him at his house yelling about Drake and OVO. He ended up catching up with them at a stoplight, rocks in hand, as he warned them—not so kindly—to stay out of his neighborhood. Drake ended up following one of the kids on Instagram, and the whole thing spawned some hilarious memes. Well, as it turned out, Joe Budden decided to pay those kids a visit the very next day. He showed up at their house, and decided to teach them an important lesson about how stanning on the internet is not the same as messing with people in real life. Joe Budden's full Hot Ones appearance is on its way soon. For now, you can check out him discussing the incident in the clip above. How The Weeknd Went From Drake's Discovery to Competition

04:56
Drake and the Weeknd's relationship has been hard to keep track of over the years. It was a placement on Drake's OVO blog that first helped the Weeknd break out, and he was later seen all over Drake's sophomore album Take Care. Soon after, though, relations seemed to sour. The Weeknd decided not to sign with OVO, and later had some interesting words about Drake's use of his material on Take Care. Although they were never openly hostile, their relationship never seemed quite the same—until recently, that is. On the eve of the release of his third album Starboy, the Weeknd sat down with Zane Lowe and, suddenly, a full-length Drake collaboration was in the realm of possibility. We'll have to see what comes of it—the pair's history has been circuitous, ranging from collaborations brimming with hit-making potential to veiled comments suggesting behind-the-scenes drama. Here's a comprehensive timeline of their confusing relationship. A History of Rihanna's Thirst for LeBron James

02:25
On Sunday, the Cavs beat the Warriors to win the NBA Championship—the first major sports championship that a Cleveland team has won since 1964. Of course, LeBron James—who was a beast in the playoffs—was named the MVP. LeBron fans celebrated. Cavs fans celebrated. But, wait—so did Rihanna. A very proud Rihanna congratulated LeBron, aka her "bae," via a series of Instagram posts following the team's win. Twitter had a field day. Gossip blogs ran stories about a possible relationship between the two. It's unlikely that the latter is true, but one thing's for sure: Rihanna is a King James fan. This past May, she wrote his number on her stomach with sunscreen. Some called it the perfect thirst trap. Let's not forget she also name dropped him in "Bitch Better Have My Money." Young Thug Stops Model on Runway to Fix His Look

VFILES presented the seventh installment of its crowd-sourced runway show Wednesday night. In addition to showcasing collections by four emerging designers, the event featured a performance by Playboy Carti. But the real star of the show might just have been Young Thug. This season the rapper was enlisted as mentor by VFILES, which means he worked with the designers, stylists, and makeup artists before their debut at New York Fashion Week. It became clear during the show that he took his responsibilities very seriously. Young Thug, who was sitting in the front row, got out of his chair to fix a model’s outfit mid-runway. Homeless Rapper Discovered in Street Freestyle Signs to Rick Ross' MMG

02:03
Rappers always dream of getting randomly discovered on the street by a big name artist, getting plucked from obscurity to kick it with the hip-hop elite. Well, for Isa Muhammad, that's exactly what happened. A few weeks back, a video of Isa rapping for none other than Rick Ross made the rounds on social media, with Isa spitting dense bars for the MMG boss. Ross seemed impressed in the video, and as it turned out, decided to bring Isa into the MMG crew off the strength of his freestyle. Since then, Isa has been seen kicking it with MMG. He showed up at Ross' pool party in Atlanta over 4th of July weekend, and has been making the rounds with some of MMG's other members as well. During MMG Weekend, we spoke with Isa, who explained to us that he was actually homeless before he freestyled for Ross and they brought him into the crew. It seems like Isa is living the street rapper dream. Pulled out of obscurity by a single impressive performance for an influential music mogul, he now has a big opportunity to make a name for himself in the industry. Clearly he's someone to keep an eye out for. Here are Supreme's Weirdest Items

03:05
Subversion. Rebellion. Shock and awe. Cultural influence. Supreme has it all. For over 21 years, the New York skate brand’s brand is one that dissidents, demagogues, and rabble-rousers alike can really get behind. Oh, and hypebeasts. Can’t forget them. In fact, it may be the hypebeasts who are allowing Supreme to continuously put out questionable gear, because they continuously sop it up with a proverbial biscuit, release after release. Supreme doesn’t set trends or influence. They don’t have to. All they need to do is drop. A T-shirt with some appropriated logo here. Some morally ambiguous accessory there, like, perhaps, a brick. And a collaboration with whoever the hell they please to really whet the whistle of their constituents. Supreme can slap their brand on just about anything, and it will most likely sell out. The sillier, the better. So, pushing the envelope to see just how far they can go with some of this shit is probably the coolest, most on-brand thing Supreme can do. That, in theory, really does make it one of the coolest brands around. So, at the risk of sounding like huge NARCs, here are 10 of the weirdest items Supreme has ever released. Iggy Azalea Thanks D'Angelo Russell for Snitching

01:42
Last week, a video that showed Nick Young talking about cheating on his fiancée Iggy Azalea made the rounds on social media. It was reportedly filmed by D'Angelo Russell and featured him asking his teammate questions while he watched a hotel TV. It has since been described by a Lakers insider as "a prank gone wrong." In the video, Young appears to be unaware that he's being recorded. Sources have told ESPN.com that the resulting tension over that brief footage is why the team sucked so bad the other night against Utah, when they tied the record for their worst loss in franchise history. A source also told ESPN that the team is handling it, like adults, by isolating the 20-year-old rookie. At a recent breakfast, nobody would sit with Russell at his table. Additionally, Lou Williams got up and walked away after Russell sat down next to him on a locker room bench. A source also added that the situation is "about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there's no trust." If you're a Lakers fan, you're probably waiting for things to finally hit rock bottom so they can inevitably build back up. Maybe this is that. Maybe it isn't. Michael Jackson's Daughter Schools Kanye West Hater

01:52
Kanye West has repeatedly expressed his admiration and respect for the late, great Michael Jackson. During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in May, 'Ye explained that he would not be where he is today if it weren’t for the King of Pop and his pioneering success. So you can imagine just how much it meant to Kanye when it was announced he had broken one of Jackson’s music records. Earlier this month, Billboard reported that Kanye had earned his 40th Top 40 hit with his feature on ScHoolboy Q’s "That Part.” The achievement moved him onto the list of top 10 male artists with most Top 40 hits of all time; it also broke Jackson’s record, which is at 39 hits. Though this was a huge milestone for Kanye, some people weren’t so thrilled that he bested the "Thriller" artist. But one person who isn’t salty over the record is Jackson’s daughter, Paris. Steph Curry Will Wear Yeezys Under One Condition

01:25
Last summer, during the lead up to Yeezy Season 1 and the album that was then known as Swish, Kanye West stopped by HOT 97 and said that he wanted Steph Curry to wear Yeezys instead of Under Armour sneakers. Now, months later, we're finally finding out what the NBA MVP thinks about Kanye's comments. In a new interview with Sole Collector, Curry said he'll wear Yeezys under one condition. "If [Kanye] wants to come to team UA, then I'll make that move. I'll be here waiting for him," Curry said, adding that he's not getting his hopes up. "There's no way that's going to happen." Yeezys or no Yeezys, it's safe to say that Curry and Under Armour don't need any help moving product right now. In response to LeBron's "Who is that?" shade from last December, Curry had this to say: "It just shows the progress we're making and the momentum that we're picking up in the sneaker world. We're a major player in the basketball business when it comes to footwear. People have to be taking notice." Taking notice might be an understatement, as Curry's sneakers helped Under Armour amass $1.17 billion in sales last quarter with even bigger numbers expected in 2016. J. Cole's Manager Addresses 'Deja Vu' Beat Controversy

J. Cole’s latest album, 4 Your Eyez Only, has only been out for about two weeks now, and it’s already being hailed as one of the biggest projects of 2016. But controversy swirls around the album's song “Déjà Vu," produced by Boi-1da and Vinylz. It sounds a lot like Bryson Tiller’s 2015 hit, “Exchange." So, Boi-1da and Vinylz have both accused “Exchange” producer Foreign Teck of stealing the beat for it. During a recent interview with Billboard, J. Cole’s manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad was asked to address the “Déjà Vu” controversy. Every NBA Team's Best Weed Story

Steph Curry’s Security Guard Has the Most Stressful Job in the World

01:59
Guarding Steph Curry is just about impossible these days. But that’s the job that Ralph Walker—the manager of security for the Warriors—has accepted. As Curry’s popularity has skyrocketed, so has his need for a personal security guard. He can’t just walk into a movie theater in 2016 without causing a scene, so Curry trusts Walker to help him navigate through his everyday life. Sports Illustrated just ran a long feature on Walker—a former Oakland police officer who was one of the first cops to show up on the scene after Latrell Sprewell choked Golden State head coach P.J. Carlesimo in 1997—and it provides a pretty fascinating look into the great lengths Walker has to go to in order to protect one of the most popular players in the NBA. At 63, Walker goes just about everywhere with Curry, which sounds like a lot of fun. It actually earned Walker this shout-out during Curry’s MVP speech last season. Royce Da 5'9" Says Drake Is Not Comparable to Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole

01:41
Slaughterhouse and Bad Meets Evil veteran Royce Da 5'9" stopped by Vlad TV to discuss his experiences with and thoughts on ghostwriting in hip-hop. As a rapper who has been a ghostwriter in the past for Puff Daddy and Dr. Dre, Royce didn't have a problem with the practice overall. He even credited his experience ghostwriting with Puffy for helping him become a better rapper. In terms of his own music, "I choose not to work like that," he explained. "There's a certain fulfillment I get from writing, but I understand it." He did note, however, that the lack of controversy after Meek Mill released the reference track Drake used for "Rico" surprised him. "For me to look and see the way that everyone reacted to that, that was pretty fucking surprising," he said. The revelation caught him off guard at first, but he looks at it as an evolution of the way hip-hop is created. "When I first heard about it, I was like what? Drizzy not writing? Because he's so fucking dope. But after looking back at it in retrospect, it's a newer way of creating." Nonetheless, he believes that the use of ghostwriters does have to be taken into account when you're discussing best lyricists in hip-hop. "The rules do have to change a little bit when you're ranking these artists, where they stand as best lyricists... To me a lyricist is a writer," he said. "You automatically can't be a lyricist if you're not writing everything." When asked whether that meant Drake should be taken out of the conversation when it comes to best lyricists, he conceded that it did. "It has to," he said. "It's only fair." Mom Freaks Out Over Son's Spotify Playlist

03:19
It seems one mom was hoping to jump on the computer to do a little Christmas shopping online when she happened to stumble upon her 8th grade son's Spotify playlist. "I'm gonna cry," the mom declares at one point. "Wowzer," she says at another point, looking even more startled as she desperately asks her daughter, "Do you know all these songs, Liv?" Things only escalate from there as she goes deeper into the list "So this is what he's listening to when he's staying in his room and listening to his music for a whole night." The greatest moment might be seeing the mom's reaction to Kanye West's "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" as it seems like the "bleached asshole" lyric kind of takes her a moment to process. Birdman Apologized To Charlamagne & 'The Breakfast Club'

03:09
Birdman was a guest on The Breakfast Club this morning, and well, it didn't go as planned. Before the show even started, Birdman warned DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Angela Yee to respect his name on the show and stop playing with him. When the interview, which only lasted a few minutes, actually started, Birdman and Charlamagne went back and forth before Baby eventually got up and walked off the set. Most of this hostility seems to stem from Trick Daddy and Rick Ross' previous Breakfast Club interviews, where Birdman and his business tactics were brought up as a topic of discussion. During those interviews, both Trick Daddy and Ross talked about past experiences with Birdman, and how they weren't too thrilled about how he was handling his business with Lil Wayne. What Did President Obama Tell Kendrick Lamar At the White House?

01:51
Back in October, a photo surfaced of Kendrick Lamar and his crew at the White House with no back story or details as to what the Compton MC did during his visit. That mystery is now solved though, as senior advisor Valerie Jarrett recently told Buzzfeed that the rapper actually met with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office. According to Jarrett, Kendrick was "a little nervous" during the meeting, so Obama broke the ice by saying, "Can you believe that we're both sitting in this Oval Office?" This had to have been a surreal moment for Kendrick, who was actually in D.C. that week to perform at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra. Kendrick hasn't yet talked about his sit down with Obama, but he did show him some public love when he found out that Obama said that "How Much a Dollar Cost" was his favorite song of 2015. Maybe one day we'll get the full story of what the two icons discussed. Even Barack Obama Is a J. Cole Stan

01:19
It's going to be a long time before we have another President as cool as Barack Obama...or at least with as good of taste in music. Recently Obama revealed that his favorite song of 2015 was Kendrick Lamar's "How Much a Dollar Cost" and later sided with the Compton rapper in a square-off with Drake. Though could you imagine the fallout if he picked a Canadian artist over an American? He's received a couple of pairs of Yeezy's from Kanye West and even invited Jay-Z to attend his second inauguration where Beyoncè sang the National Anthem. What You Need To Know About Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo

03:08
Along with the album title announcement, Kanye shared the final tracklist, which has been altered a bit. He's removed "No More Parties in LA," "30 Hours," and "Waves." He also made two new additions: "Freestyle 4" and "Feed Back." Kanye rapped about Pablo on "No More Parties in LA," although it is unclear which Pablo he is referring to. He raps, "I feel like Pablo when I'm workin' on my shoes/I feel like Pablo when I see me on the news/I feel like Pablo when I'm workin' on my house." A message on the new notepad list echoes this sentiment, with a cryptic message alongside the album title that reads, "which one?" The album was originally titled So Help Me God, before it was changed to SWISH, and again to WAVES. He's been dropping tons of hints about tracks and features over the last week, in addition to his seemingly random declaration of his stance on Bill Cosby via Twitter. He also got into a big Twitter dustup with Wiz Khalifa over the name change, although they've apparently buried the hatchet. The project is set to drop Thursday, Feb. 11.
