Counting down the most popular board games each month to help you find the best new games that people are playing, backing on Kickstarter, and talking about! In this version, players control teams of ponies searching for apples and magical gems while completing quests and making deliveries along the way. My Little Scythe was originally a homemade game developed just for personal use. But then, based partly in response to social media interest and requests, a free print and play trial version of it was released June 2017. And while My Little Scythe wasn’t able to dethrone Gloomhaven as the #1 game of the month, its designer does still have something big planned for it, announcing that there’s a special update planned in May! THE CITY OF KINGS The City of Kings is a cooperative tactical roleplaying board game for 1 - 4 players in which the characters are tasked with exploring a hazardous world, trade for vital resources, and battle their enemies whilst uncovering a story of a world imperiled. The creatures that players will encounter in The City Of Kings are generated from a pool of spells, characteristics and stats offering over 10,000,000 unique battle situations. With so many possibilities, it’s up to the players to customize their and work together to come up with a strategy to defeat whoever, or whatever, ends up standing in their way. ZOMBICIDE: INVADER Zombicide: Invader is a cooperative game in which 1-6 players face Xenos, an unfathomable swarm of infected monstrosities controlled by the game itself. Each player takes on the role of one to six survivors in a sci-fi setting with a simple, shared set of goals: choose a mission, complete its objectives, kill as many Xenos as possible, and (most importantly) survive! Zombicide: Invader finishes the month in spot number 28 on our countdown. But, will it rise again? THE MIND The Mind is played over several rounds, and each player starts each round with a hand of cards equal to its number: one card in round 1, two cards in round 2, etc. These cards must then be played to a shared discard pile in ascending order. However, players cannot communicate with one another in any way as they do so. If players can discard all their cards in the proper order throughout all the rounds, they win! The Mind exploded up the charts a few weeks ago, settling in at spot 22 for the month. IMPERIUS In Imperius, players draft cards which provide them with ambassadors, assassins, elders, nobles, and even powerful variable events. Players then deploy their cards to planets with the hopes of scoring victory points while and depriving their enemies of the same. Some cards are played face up for all to see, but some cards will be deployed face down, adding a nice dash of tension to the proceedings. The game continues until one player takes the Crown Imperius and rules over the Known Universe. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the games in the March 2018 Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. Top 10 most popular board games: September 2017

In order to obtain the position and win the game, they’ll need to outshine their competition by obtaining and organizing the most collection of impressive tomes. Players will need shrewd planning, cunning tactics, and perhaps a little magic, to surpass their opponents and become the city’s Grand Librarian! Prior to Gen Con last month, Board Game Geek.com launched an online tool where website visitors could mark games that they were looking forward to at the convention. On this list of over 570 games, Ex Libris was the fourth most anticipated one on the list. And some of the initial feedback coming out of Gen Con is that Ex Libris did not disappoint those who were looking forward to it. As for those who couldn’t pick up Ex Libris at Gen Con, look for it to hit US retailers in October. WASTELAND EXPRESS DELIVERY SERVICE In Wasteland Express Delivery Service, the unhinged characters traversing the landscape on missions of mayhem will have to battle to survive on their way from city to city, selling goods and completing objectives. Wasteland Express Delivery Service is available now. PHOTOSYNTHESIS Photosynthesis by Blue Orange Games. Photosynthesis boasts a unique theme: being a tree. In this game, the sun shines brightly on the canopy of the forest, and the trees use its energy to grow and develop their leaves. If players sow their plants’ seeds wisely, the the shadows of their growing trees will slow their opponents down, giving them an advantage. However, there’s a mechanism in the game that tracks the sun as it revolves around the forest. Trees planted in the wrong position can end up doing more harm than good to a player’s score as they grow and the board evolves. Photosynthesis was the fifth hottest game on the Board Game Geek Gen Con preview tool, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we see this one stick around on the countdown for a while. SPIRIT ISLAND Spirit Island by Greater Than Games takes place in a world where magic still exists, embodied by spirits of the land, of the sky, and of every natural thing. As European colonists begin to encroach on the land the spirits inhabit, the land itself fights back alongside the islanders who live there. MASSIVE DARKNESS Spot number two this month belongs to Massive Darkness, a game designed to bring the classic fantasy RPG experience to modern board gaming. The tools in its arsenal that it uses to achieve this include: a ready-to-go campaign, lots of highly detailed fantasy miniatures, and a character development system that works to keep the focus on the heroes' actions. This is a cooperative game in that there is no game master; the monsters and obstacles are controlled by the game itself. Massive Darkness’ core was built on the Zombicide engine, expanding it out to be a more traditional dungeon crawl RPG experience. I got a chance to play a short demo of the game earlier this year at the CMON Expo, and one of the game mechanisms that was discussed was its unique XP acquisition system, which allows players to level up their characters fairly whether they’re playing single adventures, or in a campaign mode - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the game on this month's Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. 5 Fun Two Player Abstract Board Games for New Gamers

08:13
Board Game Sanctuary Presents Two Player Abstract Board Games I love a good two player board game especially if you just want to spend a quiet night playing with a best mate or your significant other. Two player games often have a fast turn structure, tight and tense game play moments as well as an opportunity for some very deep strategic decision making. This video aims to look at some of my favourite two player abstract games that can be seen as 'lighter' or 'alternatives' to chess. Games like Hive, Santorini and Onitama may look deceptively simple, but the gameplay and actions that players can take throughout a game can almost match the high tension and suspense level of a game of chess. Please Subscribe! The Board Game Sanctuary is a family friendly board game channel that aims to introduce the board gaming hobby to new and seasoned players in a light, fun and humourous way. But the villain is not alone. They have access to a team of henchmen at their disposal as well. Batman: Gotham City Chronicles is being developed by Monolith, the same company that developed a game based on Conan The Barbarian a few years ago. The game-play in Batman: Gotham City Chronicles is based on that of Conan, but introduces revised character abilities, two new types of dice, and a new two-player Versus Mode. STUFFED FABLES In Stuffed Fables, players take on the roles of heroic stuffed animals, seeking to save the child they love from a scheming, evil mastermind. The game’s narrative is driven by the choices the players will make during the game. The chapters of Stuffed Fables explore the many milestones of a child's life. And when I say chapters, I mean “chapters”. Stuffed Fables is the first in a series of what’s being called "Adventure Book” games, in which the action takes place in a storybook; which acts as the rules reference, story guide, and game board, all in one! Each adventure spans several pages of Adventure Book, which opens flat onto the table during the game. The desired result for this approach is a branching, overarching story that is accessible enough for young players, while still being rewarding enough for older ones. SPIRIT ISLAND Greater Than Games recently reached out and provided me with several interesting tidbits of trivia about Spirit Island's design and development. Here’s a couple of them: “A fair number of people wonder what the Fear markers are supposed to represent. (Three common guesses being "a skull and crossbones", "a panda", and "a turtle".) But if you take a look at the Spirit illustration for Bringer of Dreams & Nightmares and you may notice some similarity of shape. Additionally, many Spirits were playtested during the game’s development that never made it into the final publication, for one reason or another. However, there are still oblique references to a number of them in one of the Branch & Claw Scenarios.” RISING SUN Rising Sun was a phenomenal success on Kickstarter, raising 4.2 million dollars. Even people who only back a couple Kickstarters a year backed it. Rising Sun is a spiritual successor in the same mythic big box series as Blood Rage: same designer, same artist, same studio and same sculptors. But, whereas Blood Rage could theoretically trace its ancestry all the back to a game like Risk, Rising Sun’s lineage would branch off, leading more towards a game like Diplomacy as its distant ancestor. In the game, players must master diplomatic negotiations, forming and breaking alliances, and warfare when the time comes. After funding on Kickstarter a year ago, Rising Sun’s time on our countdown has finally come. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the games in the March 2018 Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. Kingdom Death: Monster 9. Batman: Gotham City Chronicles 8. Stuffed Fables 7. Arkham Horror: The Card Game 6. Scythe 5. Gaia Project 4. Spirit Island 3. Terraforming Mars 2. Rising Sun 1. Gloomhaven

Players assume the roles of historical figures of the era, earning their legendary status in a variety of ways: through gambling, driving cattle, prospecting for gold, robbing banks, fighting bandits, pursuing stories, living the life of an outlaw, or by keeping the peace. Sandbox games provide a wealth of opportunity for exploration and experimentation in gameplay, but can also suffer from a lack of focus and purpose that can hinder the experience. How will Western Legends fare? We’ll find out as more information about how it plays is released prior to its scheduled August release. DINOSAUR ISLAND In Dinosaur Island, players will have to collect DNA, research the DNA sequences of extinct dinosaur species, and then combine the ancient DNA in the correct sequence to bring these prehistoric creatures back to life. All players will compete to build the most thrilling park each season, and then work to attract the most visitors each season, and keep those visitors alive. Because, yeah, sometimes the dinosaurs eat people. It’s rare! But… you know, occupational hazard. ENDEAVOR: AGE OF SAIL Endeavor: Age Of Sail takes place back when the globe was still being explored, and new worlds were still being discovered. Players will compete to expand their nations by sending out ships to search out new lands, establish new alliances, and conquer whatever obstacles stand in their way. The game requires players to balance exploration, shipping, colonization and war - in order to seize control of valuable resources and regions that that are discovered as the game progresses. This appears to be accomplished by way of card drafting, set collection, and controlling key areas. CHARTERSTONE In Charterstone, players construct buildings and populate a shared village by permanently adding stickers to the game board. The game starts off with just a few simple choices, but the number of options increases as the games progress. I reached out to Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemaier Games for any interesting tidbits or trivia about the design of the game, and this is what he said: “The final version of Charterstone features 100 building cards, which each have a building sticker that gets placed on the board as players construct their charters, becoming a newly available action space. The remaining card also serves a purpose, as it has a ‘crate’ number on it that lets you unlock new content later. However, originally the building cards offered another bonus as well: An instant bonus was going to be printed underneath the sticker, and revealed when it was peeled off the card. Fortunately the manufacturer tested this early in the design process, and they discovered that the waxy material underneath the sticker isn’t good at all for printing content on. So the idea was scratched and we moved on without it.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the games in the February 2018 Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. Western Legends 9. Top 10 Paranormal Games You Should Never Play

Think twice about playing these paranormal games, especially this Halloween season. Here are the top ten paranormal games you should never play. Spirit of the Coin - To play this game, you will need four items — a piece of paper, a pen, a candle, and of course, a silver coin. Write down the letters of the alphabet and numbers around the edges of the paper, as this will make it easy for the spirits to tell you their answer. Closet Game - To start the game, you must have a box of matches with you at all times. Dim the room and enter the closet, staying there for at least two minutes. Charlie Charlie - "Charlie Charlie" is a game that made its rounds on the Internet around May 2017. It has similarities to the old Spanish game, "Juego de la Lapicera", as both games require the use of pencils. Elevator Game / Elevator to Another World - Originating from Korea, the elevator game is said to take you to another world. One Man Hide and Seek - "Hitori Kakurenbo", literally meaning "hide and seek alone" in Japanese, is a game where you play hide and seek with a doll possessed by a spirit. Tsuji-ura: The Fortune Game - Crossroads are seen as places where two worlds collide with each other, setting up events where paranormal beings can meet beings such as ourselves. Midnight Game - Originally a pagan ritual, the Midnight Game is one of the riskiest games to play, as the punishment for failing the game may result in fatal consequences. Three Kings - This ritual originated from the online community Reddit, allowing you access to "Shadowside". One of the oldest paranormal games, Bloody Mary takes its roots from a folklore of the same name. Ouija Board - Perhaps the most famous and the most enigmatic of all paranormal games, the Ouija Board allows players to communicate with spirits —particularly relatives who have passed on but can't find solace in the spiritual world —and resolve the problems that kept them from accepting their fate.

10 Hidden Secrets In Board Games

07:06
10 Secrets You Should Know To Win At Common Games. Subscribe to our channel: https://goo.gl/cv6b96 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: Board games are a fun way to entertain a group of people. There’s always that one competitive person that knows how to win every game, whether it’s Catan, Scrabble, Risk, Forbidden Island, Monopoly, Chess, or even Battleship. Today, we’ll show you 10 hidden secrets in board games that will make you win every time! Let’s start with the Settlers of Catan, which is a popular board game that involves plenty of strategic thinking in order to win. Most beginners forget that you can get two extra points by building the longest road, and place your houses on ports which allow you to trade your resources for much less than the typical trading rules. Scrabble is another popular family board game that often ends up in tantrums. The key to winning Scrabble is to always practice expanding your vocabulary. You can also add ‘ish’ at the end of your word, and turn your words into verbs, adverbs, and adjectives whenever possible. To win Scrabble, you should also pay close attention to hooks and add a single letter to make a new word. Monopoly is a fun game, but not everyone is able to take the intensity of it. In order to win Monopoly, you should avoid building hotels and focus on maxing out your houses first, which will also make sure your opponents can’t build houses themselves. Try to buy the railway tracks as quickly as possible, and don’t bother with utilities. Check out our video to find out the hidden secrets of how to win in board games like Catan, Scrabble, Monopoly, Chess, Risk, Forbidden Island, Codenames, Battleship, Taboo, and Ticket to Ride. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheThingscom/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.thethings.com/

In Fallout, based on the popular video game series of the same name, one to four players embark on a post-nuclear apocalyptic adventure. Each Fallout scenario is inspired by a familiar story from the video game mythos. Survivors begin the game on the edge of an unexplored landscape, with just one objective to guide. From there, they explore the hidden map, fight ferocious enemies, and hone their survival skills as they attempt to complete challenging quests and find balance among feuding factions within the game. Have you played both the Fallout board game and video games? If so, in the comments, let me know which version you prefer, and why. OTYS Otys takes place in the mid-22nd century, where all available land has been engulfed in by the rising seas. The survivors must now fight for their lives while struggling to remain above sea level. Players are members of a colony called Otys, and they must retrieve the the debris of past civilizations from the depths of the sea in order to build a foundation solid enough to support the future of humanity. Otys was released in November, 2017. CHARTERSTONE Charterstone is a competitive legacy game, in which players construct buildings and populate their sector of a shared village. As with most legacy-style games, stickers are used to make permanent additions to the game board and rule book, allowing the game to evolve and grow over the course of a dozen or so game sessions. Since Charterstone is a legacy game, I don’t want to say too much about it and risk giving away spoilers. However, I will say that, as a fan of legacy-style games to begin with, I was looking forward to Charterstone’s arrival for a long time. And, having now played through about a third of its campaign, it has not disappointed. If you’re curious about what legacy games can have to offer, I recommend giving Charterstone a try. UBOOT: THE BOARD GAME UBOOT: The Board Game is a fully cooperative, real-time tabletop game of WW2 submarine warfare, in which 1 to 4 players assume the roles of the Captain, the First Officer, the Navigator, and the Chief Engineer on board of a U-boat. The game is driven by a companion app, allowing for a heightened level of realism, as well as an enemy controlled by A.I. The game claims to require demanding teamwork, efficient crew management, and quick situation assessment in order for the players to emerge victorious. UBOOT: The Board Game reaches spot #31 overall this month. Will it continue to rise, or sink back down into the countdown’s depths? I’m sure we’ll find out as the game gets closer to its expected October release. CAT LADY In Cat Lady, players are cat ladies, part of an elite group of people including Marie Antoinette and Ernest Hemingway. During the game, players draft cards and collect toys, food, catnip, costumes, and of course lovable cats. But watch out! Neglecting to keep enough food on hand for all of the hungry cats popularing the play area will cause penalties. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the games in the January 2018 Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. As in Terra Mystica, players will be able to choose from fourteen different factions to develop and grow a myriad of different planets. Players will need to use their wits and talents to terraform neighboring planets into environments suited for their faction. I personally have had The Gaia Project on my wish list for several months. And, while the game has started shipping to some parts of the world, I believe it should become available in north american retailers around December 14th. TERRAFORMING MARS: VENUS NEXT The next expansion for Terraforming Mars will be Venus Next, which is currently estimated to be released on December 27th. In this second expansion for the game, players will construct flying cities while working to make the Venusian atmosphere hospitable to human life. This expansion adds around 50 project cards, 5 corporations, and a new resource, milestone, award, and a new terraforming parameter. All of which introduce more paths to victory. AZUL In Azul, players take on the role of craftsmen working on the King’s palace, and take turns drafting colored tiles. As a tile-laying artist, you have been challenged to embellish the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora. They will then score points based on how they've used the tiles they’ve selected to decorate the palace. Extra points are scored for specific patterns and completing sets, and wasted supplies harm their score. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. PANDEMIC LEGACY: SEASON 2 In Pandemic Legacy: Season 2, the world has been ravaged by a virulent plague and humanity's very survival hangs in the balance. Players must work together against the game to get the world’s last remaining cities the supplies they need while unraveling the mysteries of the plague that has afflicted them. And, in the typical legacy game fashion, each step the players take leaves a permanent mark on the game world, changing the course of history, and resulting in a unique gaming experience. The game’s designer, Rob Daviau, recently confirmed in an interview that there will eventually be a third and final Pandemic Legacy game in the series (Pandemic Legacy: Season 3). - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the game on this month's Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. The talented, young author created an entirely new steampunk universe specifically for this game, and artists Michael Menzel and Klemens Franz have managed to bring her vision to life. At the center of the game is an innovative mechanism called "wheel building". Each player has an action wheel consisting of three rings, with slots for a number of different action discs. Over the course of the game, players try to obtain new discs and manipulate the rings of the wheel to optimize their action selection. CLANS OF CALEDONIA Clans of Caledonia is a mid-to-heavy economic game set in 19th-century Scotland. At this time, Scotland made the transition from an agricultural to an industrialized country that heavily relied on trade and export. In the following years, food production increased significantly to feed the population growth. Linen was increasingly substituted by the cheaper cotton and raising sheep was given high importance. More and more distilleries were founded and whisky became the premium alcoholic beverage in Europe. GAIA PROJECT Gaia Project is a new game in the line of Terra Mystica. As in the original Terra Mystica, fourteen different factions live on seven different kinds of planets, and each faction is bound to their own home planets, so to develop and grow, they must terraform neighboring planets into their home environments in competition with the other groups. In addition, Gaia planets can be used by all factions for colonization, and Transdimensional planets can be changed into Gaia planets. THE 7th CONTINENT In The 7th Continent, a solo or cooperative "choose-your-own-adventure" exploration board game, you choose a character and begin your adventure on your own or with a team of other explorers. Inspired by the Fighting Fantasy book series, you will discover the extent of this wild new land through a variety of terrain and event cards. In a land fraught with danger and wonders, you have to use every ounce of wit and cunning to survive, crafting tools, weapons, and shelter to ensure your survival. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the game on this month's Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. An interesting factoid about Nemo’s War is that it seems to keep a focus on the quality of the single-player experience, keeping the quality of its solitaire gaming experience as a priority. In fact, some chatter about the game suggests that the game’s co-op mode wasn’t originally planned, and was added because of requests made by its Kickstarter backers. It has been loosely compared to Robinson Crusoe - while still standing on its own with its own unique mechanisms and approach to telling the adventures taking place in an electric-powered submersible, during a time of anti-Imperialism, and War! The combination of these features all together in a package make it understandable why Nemo’s War starts off our countdown this month in the number ten slot. THE 7TH CONTINENT The 7th Continent's Kickstarter was successfully funded in fall of 2015, and then underwent an extensive development period, and appears to have finally been completed and started shipping to its backers in late July. Will it have been worth the wait? Well, let’s hope so, because The 7th Continent strives to be a solo or cooperative "choose your own adventure" exploration game, accomplishing this with a variety of cards, such as terrain and events - each of which can affect the story’s progress and direction. The game’s developers state that the game is designed to take players many hours to complete the game’s stories. Along the way, it features a “quick save” system, allowing players to stop playing at any time and resume their adventure later on, similar to saving a video game in order to pause and resume it later. Will the years of development of this system pay off, or is The 7th Continent better left unsaved? DICE FORGE In Dice Forge, players fight to gain valor with the gods, using an armory of dice with removable faces. This allows players to customize their dice to make them more powerful as the game progresses. These dice will produce the resources the players need in order to overcome ordeals concocted by the gods. Dice customization still seems to be a fairly new and unexplored idea in board game design. The other most recent dice customization game that comes to my mind is 2014’s Rattlebones. Rattlebones received moderate praise from critics, mostly because of its innovative dice mechanism. However, after its novelty wore off, Rattlebones seems to have faded into obscurity for the most part. Will Dice Forge suffer the same fate? Or, does this dice building game have more to offer in terms of gameplay and longevity than its predecessor? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the game on this month's Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. Nemo's War (second edition) 9. The 7th Continent 8. Century: Spice Road 7. Scythe 6. Arkham Horror: The Card Game 5. Dice Forge 4. Sword & Sorcery 3. First Martians: Adventures on the Red Planet 2. 08:25
Board Game Sanctuary Presents Season 1 Board Game Menu Episode 2: 5 Must Have Worker Placement Board Games Worker Placement Board Games are games that involve players in an action draft where players place workers on action spaces to activate particular actions or effects. Worker Placement Board games are reminiscent of some of the many popular online video games such as Civilisation where players allocate workers to gather resources, build, train and upgrade building structures, armies and actions. Players often have to select the action they would like to perform and decide on the timing of when certain actions are resolved or triggered. Players need to decide carefully because other players will often by competing for the same action spaces which can lead to certain actions being blocked out. Players act as leader and allocate workers to spaces on a board. The Board Game Sanctuary is a family friendly board game channel that aims to introduce the board gaming hobby to new and seasoned players in a light, fun and humourous way. Viticulture Essential Edition Players take on the role of wine makers who are seeking to manage and build a successful winery by allocating workers to plant vines, crush grapes, age wines and fulfil wine orders. Tzolkin The Mayan Calendar Tzolkin Mayan Calendar is a dynamic worker placement board game that uses a series of interconnected gears that rotate carry player’s workers to different action spaces on the board with each gear representing a location where Mayans have built. Timing is of the essence as the longer players wait, the more valuable the resources and actions become. Players harvest corn, construct buildings, improve technology and place offerings to the Mayan gods to garner the most victory points to win the game. Lords of Hellas is set in the Dark Ages, where ancient Greece is ruled by mighty gods. But instead of supernatural abilities, these gods gain their powers by wielding advanced technology. In the game, players will control heroes with various, asymmetric abilities. Victory can be achieved through several different strategies as well. Players will need to place and use their armies wisely, while they and their hero also deal with random events, which will require the players to join together in either a vote or taking action. The end of the game is triggered when one of a variety of victory conditions is met, as opposed to tracking points. The game’s seemingly original twists on theme and gameplay make this one that I’m personally keeping an eye on. Are others out there doing the same? Well, we’ll see in the months to come if Lords Of Hellas stays on the countdown or fades into obscurity like an ancient myth. THIS WAR OF MINE: THE BOARD GAME Historically, board games based on video games can be very tricky to pull off successfully. Slot number eight goes to This War of Mine: The Board Game, the tabletop adaptation of the award-winning video game that tells the tale of a group of survivors trapped within the confines of a conflict-ridden city, enduring hardships that often test the essence of their very humanity. While the developers of the board game state that it is designed to retain much of the feel and struggle of the video game - improving their environment by day and protecting it by night - they say that the board game significantly broadens the video game’s universe by adding the element of an overall, unveiling plot, while keeping its main focus on the interpersonal interactions that will need to be balanced between each individual’s survival instinct and group decision-making. The designers are hoping to produce an “instant play” game, with no need for reading the manual before starting the adventure. It will be interesting to see how that develops. SWORD & SORCERY And rounding out this month’s Top 10 in spot number ten is the dice-rolling dungeon crawler, Sword & Sorcery. The publisher says that Sword & Sorcery is an epic-fantasy cooperative board game in which 1-5 players fight together against the forces of evil, which are controlled by the game system itself. Each player controls one or more heroes – legendary characters brought back to life by powerful sorcery. Weakened by the resurrection, they grow stronger during their story-driven quests. By acquiring soul points during battles, the heroes' souls regenerate, restoring their legendary status with multiple powers, magic and soul weapons, and powerful artifacts. This game seems to be getting some traction due to several factors: it’s a dungeon crawl with an estimated 60-90 minute play time, the AI system that’s been designed to control the monsters (allowing all the players to take part in the adventure), the level of character customization, and an emphasis on its artwork and minis. Will all of these factors result in longevity for the game, or will it vanish as quickly as it appeared on people’s radar? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All the game on this month's Top 10 board games countdown are: 10. Sword & Sorcery 9. Great Western Trail 8. This War of Mine: The Board Game 7. Near and Far 6. Arkham Horror: The Card Game 5. Century: Spice Road 4. Scythe 3. Lords of Hellas 2. Terraforming Mars 1.
