IT'S TAKEN A WHILE FOR MY GETTING ROUND TO WATCHING THIS.... SAW AN EXHIBITION R.E FLEMISH WORKS AT CITY GALLERY MANCHESTER. IF ONE WISHES TO STUDY THE NATURE OF FLEMISH ART ONE MUST ALSO CONTEMPLATE SPANISH INFLUENCES AND/OR REACTIONS AGAINST SPANISH INFLUENCES - WHICH I NEED TO DO AND WOULD BE INTERESTING IF THIS WAS COVERED - AS IS NECESSARY, ONE WOULD ALSO BE REQUIRED TO STUDY DUTCH HISTORY ETC.... AS FOR THE "SURREAL" AND THE JUXTAPOSITION OF THIS THAT AND OTHER... IT'S QUITE LAZY AND TEDIOUS NOW. WHEN ARE THESE FOLKS GOING TO SNAP OUT OF IT AND PROGRESS? ALL VERY RETROGRADE. AS THOUGH YOU/THE AUDEINCE ETC IS FRIGHTENED TO CARRY ON WITH ARTISTIC ENDEAVOUR.
