I would love to own a raven one day, but I know I'm not ready for one since they're really destructive.

These birds are technically the most important creatures in all of Britain. For the last time the tower was devoid of Ravens, the British lost their empire.

Cygnus X-01 : Not quite true : The legend, about 500 years ago, was that if the ravens left the tower then the Kingdom of Charles II would fall. This was centuries before the British Empire ever came about. The ravens never left even during the worst days of WW2 bombing. The irony of the British Empire was that as each Country gained its Independence from Britain it immediately applied to join the Commonwealth as an Independent Country. Sometimes parents just can't get rid of the kid's after they marry and go away.

Вороны - красавчики! И с какой любовью за ними ухаживают! :) Ravens - handsome! And how lovingly cared for! :)

The Ravens have their wings clipped and and kept chained in the tower their entire lives. It's cruel and it's wrong. These idiot Londoners need to get over their ridiculous superstitions and stop this practice.

Fun fact those raven can live up to 40+ year while wild raven only live up to 15+ year. 0>0 I think so I cant remember.
Jeane Trend-Hill (7 months ago)
The ravens wings are very lightly trimmed, they are well able to fly. They are NOT chained up in any way. Please get your facts right.

I think it's pretty dumb and cruel too but people think if the last raven flies from the tower it will fall. I know, it's stupid

Sean Radagast They got feed good food instead of being called pests and scavenging from dumpsters. These Ravens lead a better life.

That's amazing. Thanks for sharing 😊 that's the raven master live in the tower of London?
Marshall Smith™ (2 years ago)
+Missmariasiya Yes they live on the grounds. The raven master as well as the guard detachment and some of their families.
