Early Titian and Landscapes | Titian's First Masterpiece: The Flight into Egypt | National Gallery

35 ratings | 5499 views
Join curator Antonio Mazzotta as he introduces Titian's influential early-career painting 'Noli me Tangere', about 1514. Experience why viewers over the centuries have been enthralled by the reality of Titian's landscapes, and see how the ambitious young painter broke the mould by fusing them with human figures. 'Noli me Tangere' is one of the earliest of Titian's paintings in the National Gallery collection. It is on display as part of 'Titian's First Masterpiece: The Flight into Egypt': http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/whats-on/exhibitions/titians-first-masterpiece-the-flight-into-egypt Watch more on our Channel: http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/channel/ Explore the life and work of Titian, including a special Titian playlist: http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/paintings/learn-about-art/artists/titian/ Follow us on Twitter @nationalgallery and use #Titian2012 in your tweets

I'm sorry..may i point out that maybe there's a mistake when Mazzotta says:"The extraordinary thing about Titian is that even if he had died at the age of 24" and then "..he went on painting for about 65 more years after this work"..
